City of Menifee Debuts Spring Clean Menifee to Support Community Cleanup Efforts

With spring comes spring cleaning and this year the City of Menifee is helping residents who would like to Spring Clean Menifee! Next Saturday, March 20, 2021—the first official day of spring—community members are encouraged to head out to their favorite Menifee public space and pick up litter. This effort encourages a way to safely get involved in the community, while helping beautify Menifee as we enter this new season. To support residents and businesses who would like to join in on the city beautification effort, the City of Menifee is providing clean-up kits, litter drop off, and “thank you” gifts to participants. By signing up prior to March 20, residents will be able to pick up clean-up kits at the Community Services Department Administrative Offices located at 29995 Evans Road (West Annex building). Each kit will include trash bags, gloves, face masks, and a “Dos and Don’ts” guide to ensure a fun and safe clean up experience. On March 20, residents can head out to any public area in Menifee to collect litter. Examples of areas that participants may select include their residential block or neighborhood, a local park, or sidewalk area.

City of Menifee Mayor, Bill Zimmerman, expressed his gratitude to Menifee residents for their desire to keep the city clean. “Particularly over the past few months, City Council has received many calls from residents asking how they can help keep Menifee beautiful. Spring Clean Menifee is the perfect opportunity to spend a little time helping and have a big impact because of our collective efforts.” Mayor Zimmerman continued, “Recently I went out with some of my City Council colleagues to pick up litter in our community after a windstorm and in 30 minutes we had each filled a trash bag. It was amazing to see what a big difference a small group of people could have in less than an hour. I am looking forward to spending time on March 20 to beautify another Menifee space.”
The City of Menifee encourages residents to get out and help. To support the effort, City staff will be on site at four parks throughout Menifee to accept up to two bags of litter collection per person. In addition, participants will be able to select a Menifee “thank you” gift at the litter dropoff locations. Each site will be collecting litter bags from 9 a.m. until noon at the following Menifee parks.
