Field 1 will was renamed for Ed Hustead a community leader who has been recognized by the city of Menifee and Riverside County for his over 20 years involvement with the Menifee Senior Softball League. As commissioner he has grown the league’s membership from 2 teams to 10 teams and over 140 active players.

Attending the event was the Mayor of Menifee, Bill Zimmerman, Council members Greg August District 1 (former MSSL member) and Lesa Sobek of District 3 who presented Mr. Hosted with a proclamation from the city.  Menifee Senior Softball League board members and fellow teammates also came out to celebrate the occasion.

Part of the day festivities included dedicating field 3 in the name of longtime MSSL player Rex Finley.  Mr. Finley passed away earlier this year at age 98. He was elected to the National Senior Softball Hall of Fame in 2010.  Members of his family were present for the field 3 dedication.
